AP Education Courses Completed:
Rehabilitation Specialist Mentorship

What type of athletes/clients do you typically work with?
As a Physical Therapist, Registered Dietitian, and Performance Specialist, I work with a diverse group of recreational and competitive athletes at all levels as well as individuals seeking a healthier lifestyle. My specialty lies in golf performance training. However, I have recently worked with team sports including but not limited to volleyball, swimming, softball, and cross country.

Why did you choose to first attend Athletes’ Performance Education courses?
When I opened my performance training studio in 2003, I read CORE Performance by Mark Verstegen and realized what a valuable resource it was for me. Since that time, I have studied Athletes’ Performance’s training methodology and have used it specifically to develop my tennis and golf programs. Additionally, I had the opportunity to spend some time with Nick Winkelman and Sue Falsone at a Perform Better Summit, which reaffirmed that I wanted the opportunity to learn from some of the leading experts in the areas of performance enhancement, nutrition, and physical therapy. Soon after becoming a physical therapist, I was ecstatic to learn that I would finally have the opportunity to participate in a Rehabilitation Specialist Mentorship program.

My goal in attending was to see the system and methodology in place. On a much smaller scale, my vision for bridging the gap between physical therapy and performance has always existed, and my personal goal is to restore optimal health in individuals of all ages and abilities. I have a profound respect for AP’s comprehensive, integrative, and scientific approach.

How has AP Education helped you professionally to further support your athletes’ and clients’ goals?
Athletes’ Performance has helped me both personally and professionally. I admire the dedication and commitment to excellence in the profession, and I aspire to continually excel in the industry.
When I returned from AP, I immediately felt energized to apply new concepts and theories to my patients and clients. I was quickly able to apply the principles of progression from the physical therapy assessment to performance in a systematic and integrative approach based on evidence-based research.

I have spent the past 13 years in the fitness and nutrition industry, specializing in performance enhancement and injury prevention through proper assessment and training methods. Perhaps the most beneficial outcome of the Mentorship is that Athletes’ Performance allowed me the opportunity to organize and implement CORE’s training methodology, to grow, and further develop my team, and build a culture of success.

Furthermore, the highly dedicated and passionate team of professionals at Athletes’ Performance serves as a supportive resource and provides a remarkable network of friends and mentors. The organization’s mission/ philosophy is one that I will continually respect and admire. Thank you, AP , for an enlightening experience.
